Richard Simmons, popular fitness guru has passed away, a day after his 76th birthday. According to TMZ, police and fire responded to a call from his housekeeper Saturday morning and he was pronounced him dead at the scene. No foul play is suspected.
Known for his exuberant personality and unmistakable style, Simmons has had a significant impact on the fitness industry and popular culture.
Simmons, born Milton Teagle Simmons burst onto the fitness scene in the late 1970s and quickly became a household name throughout the 1980s.
