JJ Hairston has inked a deal with Motown Gospel for his JamesTown Music imprint.
This announcement comes just a few weeks before the 25th anniversary of the establishment of JJ Hairston and Youthful Praise. To celebrate, Hairston is putting together a live recording of some of his biggest hits with Youthful Praise such as “Thankful,” “Lord of All,” and “Awesome God.” New music will also be introduced that showcases the choir’s continued relevance and Hairston’s spirit-filled leadership.
“This milestone is a testament to God’s faithfulness and the passion of everyone involved in Youthful Praise over the years,” Hairston said in a statement reflecting on the journey. “We’ve experienced so many moments of joy, challenges, and inspiration. This recording is not just a reunion; it’s a reminder of our purpose and calling in ministry.”
The live recording to scheduled to take place on November 23 at The Gathering Place in Capitol Heights, MD. Hairston currently serves as a senior pastor of The Gathering Place alongside his wife Trina Hairston. Special guests expected to take the stage include Tamela Mann, Jonathan McReynolds, Melvin Crispell III, Tim Bowman Jr., Wendy Wyatt, Anthem Nights Music, Janae Jones and Nigerian artist Jumbo. The live recording will mark the first project under the partnership between Motown Gospel and JamesTown Music.
