North West is not shy about her style, her love for Tyler, The Creator, or her faith.
In a recent interview for Interview Magazine, West, the eldest daughter of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, shared a few of her current favorite things. As detailed in her responses, North is undoubtedly a fan of her dad, Tyler, the Creator, and God.
When asked the biggest lesson she’s learned so far, the 11-year-old’s answer was surprising: “Trust God only.” She went on to detail how she recently put her faith into practice during a family vacation. “We had this house there (in Italy) and there were these devil statues. I was like, ‘What should we do, we gotta pray.’” West described teaching her younger siblings to pray at that moment. She said the interaction brought them closer to God. “God really did his thing after.”
Interview Magazine shared the interview clip on their social media channels where followers responded with praise for North’s honesty, and her parent’s upbringing style. Most agree she has a refreshing maturity.
One user wrote, “Having your child recognize the power of God and the importance of trusting Him and not being afraid to share it with the world and her siblings with all the crazy happening in this world is a major flex.”
Another responded with, “When a kid is asked about her favorites and she says her parents, God, and spending time with her siblings, it sounds like her priorities are straight to me. Especially in this day and age. Especially when she has enough fame and money to only care about herself, she’s right where she needs to be.”
The pre-teen’s spunk, creativity, and wisdom were on display during the conversation. She donned box braids and a sporty-chic black and white outfit, accessorized by two gold chains with cross pendants, and a left wrist full of pink and gold arm candy. In continuing with her list of current faves, she says her style is inspired by streetwear, the 90’s, her dad, and the artist, Tyler, the Creator.
North has seemingly taken a note from her father’s book. The Grammy award winning rapper has been outspoken about his faith in recent years. He even released a gospel album, “Jesus Is King,” in 2019. The 11 track record featured popular songs like “Every Hour” (featuring the Sunday Service Choir), “Hands On” featuring Fred Hammond, and “Closed on Sunday.”
Though Kanye West’s conversion was met with much controversy and skepticism he continued to promote his new found faith. Though not as loud about it, Kim Kardashian has been heard referencing her gratitude for God on her reality show “The Kardashians.”
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were married for six years before separating in 2021 and finalizing their divorce in 2022. They share four children together. In addition to North West, they have Saint West, 8, Chicago West, 6, and Psalm West, 5. Their dating relationship, marriage, and split were highly publicized. The culmination came as Kardashian dropped the last name “West” the day after her divorce was finalized.
