The Black Church Political Action Committee (PAC), is on a mission to engage one million voters to get Democratic candidate, Vice President Kamala Harris, elected as President.

Their method? “Win with the Black Church.”

With the national launch of their Organize the Church initiative, the committee aims to build power by leveraging the collective voice of the Black Church to influence key issues and drive positive change.

Their goal as described on their official website is to “engage 1,000,000 voters in swing states to participate in voter registration (targeting MI, NC, PA, GA, NV, AZ, WI), voter education, and voter mobilization for the 2024 Election Cycle.”

The Black Church PAC is supporting these efforts with resources that allow citizens to register to vote and check registration status. Also, to view what issues are on their state’s ballot, request an absentee ballot, and sign up for election reminders. It also offers education to overseas and military voters and convicted felons looking to restore their vote.

By empowering faith leaders, community leaders, and connected family members and friends, the Black Church PAC believes this program will make a significant difference in swing states across the country. The initiative emphasizes the importance of voting from local to national levels, providing both non-partisan voter registration and education tools, as well as specific election strategies to elect Kamala Harris for President.

Dr. Jamal Bryant, pastor of New Birth Church in Atlanta, GA, is spearheading promotion.
Since August the leader has held a host of events designed to capture the different facets of the Black community and secure the Black vote. Most recently, he’s partnered with the Reunion Tour 2.0 hoping to reach the Black Church PAC’s target audience.

At the latest tour stop, Bryant rallied participation with this encouragement. “Voting is a revolutionary act. It is in fact apostolic authority for us to vote. What happens when you don’t vote? What happens when the election is rigged,” he said, “When we don’t show up to vote they’ll always pick the wrong person. But I believe that this is the season where we get somebody who knows how to take the nation to a high place. That knows how to correct the wrongs and is able to safeguard our democracy.”

The Win With the Black Church kick-off event featured Grammy-winning gospel artist, Erica Campbell and a slew of faith leaders from around the country. Black Church PAC Co-Founder, Pastor Mike McBride of The Way Church Berkeley said, “We are here as individuals, lifting up our voices in unison, making public our commitment to ensure we elect Kamala Harris as the next president of the United States. We are here for such a time as this. We believe with a divine strategy we can have a very significant and shared outcome.”

The Black Church PAC meets virtually every week for the Monday Night Huddle organizational call. Other meetings include voter town halls in various cities, the 100% Voter Congregation Information Session, the National Voter Registration Day Call, and the upcoming Unite for America program hosted by Oprah Winfrey.

Those interested in supporting the movement can sign up to volunteer or join a Church Affinity Group on their website.
