HOW ARE YOU USING YOUR GIFT TO INSPIRE THE COMMUNITY? “One of my main purposes in life is to use my gifts for the public good and for people to be encouraged to grow and find life — I want to do things that are life-giving. For me using songs, music and lyrics, it’s important for me to put them out there into the world so that people can hear them and hopefully find some hope and peace for their souls, or hear something that will spark that fire on the inside of them and allow them to desire more.”

THE CREATOR:

With the amount of members that make up Maverick City Music, you’d be forgiven if it’s a bit hard choosing a fave. Not for us! That honor easily goes to Naomi Raine, who’s been part of the collective since its debut back in 2019 and has been a shining star on the squad ever since. That translated lovingly as well on her 2022 debut solo album, Journey, and the female-centric “It’s Time Tour” in Spring 2023 alongside prominent “ladies for the Lord” like Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Natalie Grant, TAYA, Tamela Mann and Katie Torwalt.

Although she’s become a proud ATLien over the years, her roots go back to New York City — Hollis, Queens to be exact! That’s what made her 2023 debut live album, Cover The Earth (Live In New York), feel so much like a full-circle moment. Arriving right on time for a summer of praise, the 14-track project came with a blessing of collaborations from the likes of Natalie Grant, Todd Dulaney, Lizzie Morgan and frequent duo mate Chandler Moore. It proved to be the beginning of a career that is sure to bring many households joy and a voice that will always be delivering the message of God. It’s been a long journey since that first concert she sang in at the age of two to the mommy-of-three she’s become today, but we’re just glad this one in particular stuck with His word and made a voice for herself to share with the world. It’s a quality she adapts into her own community as well.

The give-back comes in the form of her ministry as a Worship Pastor at Fresh Start Christian Center in Mount Vernon, New York — shout out to The Vern! — in addition to mentorship for others just like her trying to make it in Christian music through her indie record label, The Bridge Collective. May the cycle continue!
